Of Faux Pas and Sharks

Ayeesha Dicali

This will be short and sweet. To you, my best friend, who fought with me, for me, when I was in the wrong side of the battle, thank you. It means so much to me that you chose to see my vulnerability, my insecurity, the hurt that I felt that caused me to lash out, instead of how wrong I was. You hugged me and said, "You were wrong. The damage has been done, but I won't forsake you."

You covered my ass when I made that  faux pas. While others saw me bleeding in the sea, they transformed into sharks and circled around me when they smelled blood.

I am listening. I am learning. Thank you.
